OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS IN GJUTARS RESIDENCY 2023

Vantaa Artists Association invites emerging artists from all over the globe to participate in an artist in residence program in the Artist House Gjutars in Vantaa. The months available in 2023 are:

  • January
  • February
  • October
  • November
  • December

INFO FOR THE APPLICANT:

  • The residency includes a room, a small kitchen, a bathroom and an atelier –> 35 m2 in size altogether
  • The rent is 490 €/month + 50 € deposit (will be returned)
  • Electricity, water, heating and wifi are included in the rent
  • The studio is equipped with tableware, microvawe, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, oven, washing machine, TV, radio and bed linen
  • Possibility to accomodate a spouse +  a child
  • Possibility to have a small exhibition, meet the artist, or another event in Gallery Gjutars for one week at the end of the residency month

Please include in your application the month you are applying for, your contact information, cv, and your plan for the residency stay. N. B. You can also apply for a longer stay than one month.

Greta ja William Lehtinen Foundation – Artists Residence

Greta ja William Lehtinen Foundation – Artists Residence in Helsinki is currently accepting applications for 2021–2022.

The residence provides a unique living opportunity in the center of Helsinki. It is located in a historic 1906 Jugend ( Northern Art Nouveau) building where many famous artists had their ateliers. The building is located on Luotsikatu in the Katajanokka area, walking distance to the main market square and downtown. It is also easily accessible by transit.

The residence is 138 m3, has three private bedrooms, a large common area kitchen, dining and living room. It has been fully renovated and furnished.

The residency period varies from three to nine months. Long term residencies offer opportunities for deeper cultural exchanges and provide a creative atmosphere for one’s own artistic concentration.

To qualify for residency, applicants must have a Bachelors degree or Diploma from an accredited art school in the fields of Design, Visual Arts, Music and Architecture.

There is a monthly fee for the accommodations. Residents are responsible for their own travel arrangements as well as their living costs during their stay.
